As with most things, church school programs seem to go best with proper planning! Many parishes use a theme to accomplish this. Your theme can be supplied for you by nature of the curriculum you follow for each year, or you may choose to select a different theme, which will be interwoven with whatever curriculum you use. This could be obtained from the topic of the upcoming Orthodox Institute for example, or from some major event in the life of the Church, such as (this year) the naming of a new Metropolitan. You can certainly be creative with this. When some major event affects the life of the Church, it may not be touch on by the curriculum alone, and you may wish to bring it into the curriculum so that it can be mentioned or discussed by members of your Church School. Be creative!
